September 11th (Superman) Letter

April, 2002

Dear Engine 7, Ladder 1,

I am 13 years old and in the 8th grade. On September 11th I was watching the horrific terrorist attacks on television. You were all there and no one could ever imagine what was going through your mind on this horrible day.

I would like to thank you all for giving your help to the people in the World Trade Centers. Firefighters are meant to save lives, no to have them taken away. To me, and many others, you are all heroes. A lot of effort and hard work was put into the rescue of the people in the towers, and it totally showed on the 9/11 documentary film. That film showed viewers how much you care about New York City and the people.

If I had the chance to meet you all I would cry. It would be a happy cry though because I am so glad you are alive and well. I am sorry for the loss of your friends and families on September 11th. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for always being so brave no matter how scared you may be. I would also like to thank you for giving it your all on September 11th. Always remember that we who are truly brave will never live in fear. From the bottom of my heart, I give you all my thanks!

Sincerely yours
