Dear Engine 7, Ladder 1,
I am 14 years old and live in Edmeston, NY. It is about 17 miles from Cooperstown NY. Three weeks ago my class and I watched the documentary
9/11. I had not seen the movie until then. Right then I found out that life was
not going to be easy. You taught me never to give up. That may sound ordinary
but it impacted my life immensely. My family noticed my change and wondered
what had driven me to be more compassionate and loving. I started to spend more
time with my mom and helping her.
I was wondering if your firehouse has a web
site I could visit to learn more about your experiences. I am sure 9/11 has
impacted you in ways I cannot imagine. 9/11 has impacted me also. I have many
friends who lived near the towers. One of them lost his apartment totally. Even
thought this tragedy was horrible, I have tried to get over it and move on. This
is not working, but I am still fighting to live a normal life again.
